With roaring guitars and swooning melodies, Melbourne-based Rolling Blackouts Coaster Fever are at it again, ripping up waves of feel good rhythm. On the surface, it’s a guilt-free pop tune. Dive a little deeper, however, and you might lose your balance. Whining whimsically over days gone by, this one lingers between soft, subdued subject matter and violent riffs, placing Julie’s Place on a thin string between two very different states of mind. Haphazardly, it’ll snap you into a hazed maze, battling melancholy with euphoria. Perhaps this is what makes the track so appealing. The boys have pieced together something organic and fresh.
Julie’s Place will appear on the band’s upcoming EP, due for a 2017 release.
